Let's Get The Party Started

As a bit of a penny pincher, I often grudge spending money on myself for new clothes as I feel I should just recycle and spend it on something else...(house, cats, food lol)...but as it is my gorgeous cousins birthday party coming up in the next few weeks, I decided it's about time that I treated myself to a new dress (obviously something not too expensive and that I can wear again).

As I'm a 'bigger' lady, I often find that due to my shape, I can never find something that is flattering on me, but I managed to narrow it down to the following four...can't wait till pay day!

Are you going anywhere special soon?

I Moustache You a Question

Cliché eh?

Anyone who knows me, know that I am OBSESSED with a little Belgian detective known as Hercule Poirot.

I have, the now rather fashionable, obsession with moustaches...I loved them first!

I own everything from a mat for my front door, to jewellery, to bedding...even my cat has a moustache! I don't know what it is about them, but they are just awesome!

Do you have any weird obsessions?

The legend himself :)

Wish I had this when Marcucio was ill!

Giraffes...another obsession...giraffe with a moustache, even better!

On Your Own Backdoor

As a public transport user (I'll learn to drive one day) I'm always moaning that there is never anything to do within reasonable travel time/cost...so the other half and I decided it's about time we stopped moaning and started doing!

Over the weekend we decided that the first place to start was the new Transport Museum in Glasgow, now the Riverside Museum. The other halfs Grandad was the last man to ever drive the Highlander train and we thought it would be nice to go and have a wee look in memory of him.

When we got there we weren't too pleased to notice a lot of obvious changes (new place right?) but the train had been repainted a different colour :(...despite this, it turned out pretty good, and we didn't realise we could go on the Tall Ship! which was pretty awesome...so below are a few pics from our wee day oot.

Next stop...JOUSTING!!

Buttons! Wonderful buttons!

So, when I lost the plot and decided that making button bouquets for my upcoming nuptials was a good idea (did I mention I need to make 6?!) I thought I better start looking for buttons.

On the assumption that finding buttons was relatively easy, I just started googling...how wrong was I?! There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of different sizes, shapes, colours, everything...trying to decide is proving difficult...this is where I need someone to help my non decision making head out.

While all the scrolling for buttons, I discovered the numerous amounts of things people do with them...who knew buttons could be so versatile? I've put together some little lovelies I found that I plan on DIY'ing when the Wedding projects are done with.

Not sure if I would wear these, but pretty cute...would maybe add some to a plain little t-shirt to brighten it up!

Old to New

While trolling Pinterest for some DIY and Craft ideas I came across the most wonderful blog...

...I'm constantly having a wardrobe drama where I'm always moaning 'I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!'...we've all been there right?!

So I discovered the amazing Jillian Owens and her ReFashionista blog...why have I never heard of her before?!

Her goal is to change the way we think about fashion...she's certainly done that for me. She takes old/cheap thrifted clothes and turns them into the most amazing things...a nightdress into a wonderful top...why have I never thought of this before?

Below are some of her pieces that I really like.

Go and have a look at some of her wonderful creations on her blog ...I'm away to get my sewing machine!!!!!

Planning a DIY Wedding

So, ever since I started planning my wedding, I've not had a clue what I'm doing!! We're on a budget and it firstly appears to be quite difficult...

...all I can say is, thank god for Blogs and Pinterest, I honestly don't know how I would cope without them!

My first go to blog post is A Thrifty Mrs. She has sent me well on my way to my budget friendly wedding. Also follow her on Pinterest for some awesome home ideas!!

Pinterest...seriously, what would I do without Pinterest?? I had previously heard of this but to be honest I had no idea what the point was...now I know. It's bloody amazing! I'm finding so many amazing ideas, DIY creations, the lot...although I think I've changed my mind about what I want about a hundred times and I still have 11 months to go till the big day so this should be interesting :P.

Another blog I've had some ideas from is Whimsical Wonderland, so many cute weddings from brides on a budget.

My plan is to have a colourful yet vintage feel day and when googling I came across Rock n Roll Bride, these ladies ideas are so cute and those swarovski crystals shoes, seriously to die for!!

The last blog I found was My DIY wedding day , quite clearly everything I've been looking for! So many ideas, tips, tutorials...everything! Defo something I'm keeping handy.

I've added some photos of some of my favourite pieces from the blogs and also some wish list items! Enjoy :)

Don't know how she had the patience!! So gorgeous though!

A freaking cupcake tree!!

Vivienne Westwood - This is a must try DIY, unless someone loves me enough and buys me them! ;)

DIY birdcages...far too cute.
